Some credit card providers allow the ability to accept payments through Apple Pay and/or Google Pay.
The advantage of this is that it allows the user to get through the checkout quickly as they don't need to enter their credit card details.
What providers allow Apple Pay and Google Pay?
We are constantly working with the credit card providers that allow this.
The following is the current list of credit card providers and what they allow:
Provider | Apple Pay | Google Pay | Notes |
STRIPE | YES | YES | |
Authipay | YES | YES | |
Global Payments using HPP | NO | YES | |
Elavon using HPP | NO | YES | |
Opayo | NO | NO | Opayo have said that Apple Pay is currently in BETA |
How does APPLE PAY and GOOGLE PAY work within AB Commerce?
Currently, when the user is at the end of the checkout for the above credit card providers (as long as you have followed the steps below), they will have the option of paying by APPLE PAY or GOOGLE PAY instead of entering their credit card details. This will appear on the same screen as the "Enter your Credit Card Details" screen.
We are currently working on also providing this functionality on the VIEW BASKET page so that anyone who wants to use the address recorded on their APPLE PAY / GOOGLE PAY account and not have to go through any checkout screens at all can simply complete their order with just "1 click". We anticipate that this will be available for STRIPE and are hopeful that we may be able to get this to work with Authipay too.
Steps to set up Apple Pay and Google Pay with STRIPE:
- Email the help desk to turn it on for you and they will help you through the steps you need to take
- Then put through a test order using APPLE PAY (you can only use Apple Pay on Safari browsers on Apple Phones)
- And then put through a test order using GOOGLE PAY
Steps to set up Apple Pay and Google Pay with Authipay:
