Some credit card providers allow the ability to accept payments through Apple Pay and/or Google Pay.
The advantage of this is that it allows the user to get through the checkout quickly as they don't need to enter their credit card details.
What providers allow Apple Pay and Google Pay?
We are constantly working with the credit card providers that allow this.
The following is the current list of credit card providers and what they allow:

Global Payments using HPP | NO | YES | |
Elavon using HPP | NO | YES | |
Opayo | NO | NO | Opayo have said that Apple Pay is currently in BETA |
How does APPLE PAY and GOOGLE PAY work within AB Commerce?
Currently, when the user is at the end of the checkout for the above credit card providers (as long as you have followed the steps below), they will have the option of paying by APPLE PAY or GOOGLE PAY instead of entering their credit card details. This will appear on the same screen as the "Enter your Credit Card Details" screen.
We are currently working on an express checkout with Stripe, providing APPLE PAY or GOOGLE PAY functionality on the VIEW BASKET page so that anyone who wants to use the address recorded on their APPLE PAY / GOOGLE PAY account and not have to go through any checkout screens at all can simply complete their order with just "1 click". This development is at an advanced stage.
Steps to set up Apple Pay and Google Pay with STRIPE:
- Email the help desk to turn it on for you and they will help you through the steps you need to take
- Then put through a test order using APPLE PAY (you can only use Apple Pay on Safari browsers on Apple Phones)
- And then put through a test order using GOOGLE PAY
Steps to set up Apple Pay and Google Pay with Authipay:
- AIB should have enabled your account already for GOOGLE PAY and APPLE PAY but you need to ensure that the customer is redirected automatically back to the website/shop once a payment is confirmed. Log in to the Virtual Terminal solution and navigate to Customisation > "Define the URLs for the integration with your online store". Ensure that both the checkboxes highlighted below are checked. If these checkboxes are not checked then the customer will need to click a button to come back to the website. If you have any difficulty with this contact Authipay.
- Ask the magico help desk to turn on google and apple pay
- The last screen in the checkout will now be changed to look like the screen below
- Then put through a test order using APPLE PAY (you can only use Apple Pay on Safari browsers on Apple Phones)
- And then put through a test order using GOOGLE PAY
