Welcome to the onboarding process for your new eCommerce website. This guide outlines the essential steps and key information required to successfully launch your store on the AB Commerce platform.
📁 Accessing Your Project Documents
Once your onboarding process begins, you’ll receive access to your Client Folder. This folder typically includes:
- Onboarding Information Document – a working document where you or your team can input important business and technical information.
- Project Milestones Tracker – an outline of each stage in your site’s development.
These documents will be shared with you by the Onboarding Team at the start of the Onboarding Process
🌐 Choosing Your URL
If you already have an existing online store, your domain name may already be established. In this case, please confirm the details of your current domain via the Onboarding Information Document.
If you are selecting your new store’s domain for the first time, aim for a name that is short, simple, and memorable. For example, instead of www.johns-hardware-and-gardening-supplies.com, you might opt for something more concise like www.johnshardware.ie.
Once the domain is confirmed, the AB Commerce team will begin building a temporary version of your site at a placeholder URL.
🗂️ Preparing Your Product Catalogue
If you plan to launch with an initial range of products (e.g.500-1000 products), please provide a product list including product names, descriptions, pricing, and SKUs.
Sharing sample images is also helpful to confirm if they meet quality and size guidelines.

🔗 Integrating with Your EPOS / ERP
If you are using an EPOS or ERP system (e.g. Intact, Retail Solutions, Touchstore etc), your integration will be handled in collaboration with both the ERP/EPOS and AB Commerce technical teams.
📧 Order Confirmation Email Address
Your site will require a dedicated email address from which order confirmation emails are sent (e.g., orders@yourdomain.com or onlineorders@yourdomain.com). Once this address is ready, it should be added to the onboarding document so it can be verified through AWS.
🎨 Branding and Design Assets
To ensure your store reflects your brand identity, please provide:
- Your company logo in high resolution
- Any brand guidelines (e.g., fonts, color codes)
These assets will guide the design of your website’s layout and visual elements. For example, if your brand uses a deep red and grey color scheme, you can provide Pantone or RAL codes to maintain consistency.
💳 Payment Gateway Options
AB Commerce integrates with a variety of payment providers:
- Stripe (recommended for Express Checkout & Subscriptions)
- AIB Authipay
- Elavon
- Global Payments / Realex

In addition to your product catalog, you’ll need to supply content for standard informational pages, such as:

- Delivery & Collection
- Returns Policy
- Terms & Conditions
- Privacy Policy
This content can be submitted in your onboarding document or sent directly to your Project Onboarding Lead.
