NOTE: *Our advice is to avoid using the HEADER MENU BAR if possible and put all your links into the FOOTER MENU BAR as the top of the page is already busy. If you do need to add a link to the Header Menu Bar, you need to first set it up in the Footer Menu Bar and then add it as a link only in the Header, see below.
It is also possible to add your telephone number to the Header Menu and make it active, please contact our Help Desk to set this up
The following is an EXAMPLE FOOTER MENU BAR:
- Log in as Website Admin
- Select Catalogue (top menu bar)
- Select Categories & Navigation
- Select Footer Menubar from the left sidebar
- The process involves setting up Headings (in example above that is COMPANY, POLICIES) first and then Pages (in example above that is About Us, Meet the Team)
- To create the Heading
- Select + Add New Page
- Enter the TITLE of the heading
- Leave IS ACTIVE checked to ensure that it appears on the website.
- Select Footer from the Parent Category drop down (it will appear by default)
- Enter a SORT ORDER number to determine order in the menu bar (the list is sorted in ascending order).
- Ignore the other items
- Select FINISH.
- The Heading will now appear in the Footer Menu
- To add Pages under the Heading
- Navigate to the relevant Heading and select View Sub-Pages
- Select Add New Sub Page.
- Enter the TITLE of the Sub Page
- Leave IS ACTIVE checked to ensure that it appears on the website.
- Select the relevant Heading from the Parent Category drop down menu
- Enter a SORT ORDER number to specify where in the menu bar it appears (the list is sorted in ascending order).
- NOTE: There is an option to link this page to another URL – if you want to do this, enter the URL in the OVERRIDE LINK URL field – but ensure that if it is to another page on the website, it must be a relative URL (i.e. leave off the “https://www.domainname.com” part in the URL).
- Select FINISH.
- The Page Link will now appear under the relevant Heading in the Footer Menu
- To add content to your new pages, follow the steps in Adding Text and Graphics to a General Content Page
- To add a Heading to the Header Menu
- First follow the steps above to create a Footer Menu Heading and Page
- Navigate to to the Footer Menu
- Select Add New Sub Page.
- Enter the TITLE of the Sub Page
- Leave IS ACTIVE checked to ensure that it appears on the website.
- Select Header Nav from the Parent Category drop down menu
- Enter a SORT ORDER number to specify where in the menu bar it appears (the list is sorted in ascending order).
- Add OVERRIDE LINK URL to the Page you have just created, remember it must be a relative URL (i.e. leave off the “https://www.domainname.com” part in the URL).
- Select FINISH.
- The Page Link will now appear in the Header Menu Bar
