How to assign products to filters
Products can be assigned to filters in a number of ways
- In CATALOGUE - PRODUCTS - choose category tab and add the filter as an additional category
- In the filter (accessed from CATALOGUE - CATEGORIES & NAVIGATION - Choose filter group from the left nav and choose the filter) click view products and click the ADD EXISTING PRODUCT or ADD NEW PRODUCT
- Using a bulk upload as detailed in https://support.abcommerce.com/hc/en-us/articles/360009315177-Bulk-Importing-New-Product-Category-Relationships-Brands-Filters-Product-Groups This can only be used to add filters, it can not be used to amend filters. Helpdesk can help you with this.
- If you have systems integration enabled between your ePos/ERP and the AB Commerce platform, you may have your filters automatically coming through the website categorisation functionality within your ePos/ERP. All you need to do is enter EXTERNAL CODES above under the FILTERS to map categories within your ePos/ERP to the filters.

Special Filters – Grouping Filters & Automating Versions
For special filters like COLOUR where there could be 100 different colours on your ePos/ERP, (e.g. 10 different shades of blue) the next article describes steps on automating these filters so that they are mapped to "parent filters" as having 100+ colours in a sidebar refinement is not usable. Instead, for example, the 10 different shades of blue needed to be grouped under a parent filter of "Blue".
There are also special filters where you want to automatically map version fields like size and colour to filters – which the next article will also cover.
