New In is a great way to advertise new products and show returning customers your new stock. We recommend that you put this at the start of your menu bar.
How does NEW IN work?
For each product, there is a NEW UNTIL DATE field which is used to determine if a product is new or not. When this field is blank, the system then automatically generates this date to be 45 days after the product is created in the shop.
There is also a NEW FROM DATE which defaults to the date the product is created in the shop. When listing NEW products, this is used to work out which new products to display first so that the most recently added products are placed at the top. This means that if a customer comes into the shop each day and looks at the NEW IN category, any new products added since yesterday are added to the start of the list.
Optimal Configuration
- A menu option called NEW IN/NEW ARRIVALS in your main menu bar.
- When you hover over this menu option, it will display all the top menu bar options so that the user can either click on the main NEW IN link to see all new products – or click on a sub menu bar option just to see the new products for that main category.
Steps to Create the Optimal Configuration (Please note only your Implementations Team can set this up for you)
There are 2 options available: (1) Display the main categories under the NEW IN menu option OR (2) Display an alternative list of categories under the NEW IN menu option
