Enabling multiple currencies will allow your users to change the currency to alternative currencies by clicking the DEFAULT FLAG:
All prices displayed on the website, including shipping fees, are then converted to the selected currency.
If you would like to enable multiple currencies on your website, take the following steps:
- Get it turned on by your credit card provider (e.g. Global Payments, Authipay)
- Once turned on, email the Help Desk with the list of currencies to set up and their exchange rates
- Any time you want to change your exchange rate, email the Help Desk with the new rate
Base Exchange Rate for Reporting
All sales reporting is converted into the base currency of your website so that you have one currency figure in your sales reports and which sums all the other currencies together. Because different currencies have fluctuating exchange rates over time, we use a seperate base exchange rate for reports - and the base currency order totals are then calculated at the time each order is made using the current base exchange rate for reporting.
This base reporting exchange rate is the same as your exchange rate by default - but if you want to change it to a different rate to allow for exchange rate commissions, etc, send this to the help desk for each exchange rate.
Specific URLs for different countries
If you would like to set up urls for different countries (e.g. .co.uk to default to UK and sterling), contact the Help Desk and they will give you urls to use for DOMAIN REDIRECTING so that you can set up redirects on your other domains to your website but with the default currency and region changed).
