Your Home Page is the digital shopfront for your online store. It’s often the first impression visitors have of your brand, so it needs to be clear, engaging, and up to date.
As part of the onboarding process, our Design Team will create your initial Home Page layout, including the banners and graphics that will be displayed when your online store goes live. These visuals are designed in collaboration with you, based on the information provided in the Design Questionnaire.
Once complete, the Design Team will also share copies of the graphics for your reference and future use.
After your site launches, you can easily keep your Home Page fresh and up to date by using the Widget Manager to showcase your latest products, promotions, and brand messaging.
Best Practice: When updating your Home Page after launch, aim to maintain a consistent look and feel with your original design. Use similar image styles, colors, and fonts to preserve your brand identity. If creating new graphics, try to match the tone and style established during the initial design phase.
Below are some additional guidelines and best practices to help you create a Home Page that drives engagement and conversions.
1. Keep Your Messaging Clear and Focused
Your Home Page should immediately tell visitors who you are and what you offer. Consider including:
- A hero banner with a strong call-to-action (e.g. “Shop New Arrivals”)
- Highlights of unique selling points such as delivery terms, Irish owned, or exclusive collections
Tip: Avoid clutter. Focus on 2–3 key messages instead of overwhelming visitors with too much content.
2. Use Widget Containers for Structured Layouts
You can structure your Home Page using Widget Containers.
- Each Widget Container represents a row on the page.
- Within each container, you can add widgets such as graphics, featured product, videos, or text blocks.
- Stack containers in a logical order so your content flows naturally—from high-impact visuals at the top to supporting content below.
Example Layout:
- Hero Banner Container (large banner)
- Featured Products Container (top-selling or seasonal items)
- Promotions Container (current offers or events)
- Content Container (brand story or sustainability message)
3. Highlight Featured Products and Collections
Your Home Page is the perfect place to showcase key products or collections. Use widgets to showcase:
- Featured Products
- Category Links (directing users to popular collections)
- Promotions
Rotate these frequently to keep your Home Page fresh and relevant.

4. Schedule Time-Sensitive Content
If you’re running a seasonal campaign or limited-time promotion, you can schedule your Widget Containers so they automatically go live and expire on specific dates.
This is especially useful for:
- Holiday promotions
- Flash sales
- Event-specific messaging
This ensures your Home Page stays timely without needing constant manual updates.

5. Keep Load Speed in Mind
While visuals are important, avoid overloading your Home Page with too many large images or videos. A fast-loading page improves user experience and helps with SEO rankings.

6. Review and Update Regularly
Your Home Page should evolve with your business. Schedule a regular review to ensure it always features:
- Current promotions
- Relevant seasonal messaging
- Updated featured products or categories
Keeping your Home Page dynamic and up to date helps encourage repeat visits and improves conversion rates.
