To set up local delivery only products the retailer first needs to set up Ship By Band Shipping Rates with two shipping options "Local Shipping" And "Nationwide Shipping".
Ensure that the "Local Shipping" option is the default shipping option for the region. You can see this by making sure that it is the first option displayed in the Shipping Admin Screen like below.
Make sure that you set the "Nationwide" option to have a lower sort order than the "Local Delivery" option as shown in the screenshot.
Set up the bands so that band 1 is the standard rate that you charge for local and nationwide shipping and then have band 2 be the local only products. This means that you have to ensure that band 2 for the "Nationwide" option is not enabled. Then you can have the other higher bands for other products eg bulky.
Once you have this setup you just need to assign all of the local delivery only products to band 2. This can be done by bulk upload or manually.
Make sure to test this is working correctly by adding a local delivery only product to the basket to check that you only get the option for local shipping.
