To set up your catalogue quickly, you can import a CSV file with all your products in a table.
You can create CSV fields in EXCEL and just save the file as CSV instead of XLSX.
Download Sample Product File
The following is a sample file for importing new products - note that all products are assumed as ACTIVE:

VERY IMPORTANT: The ProductCode must be the same product code as used on your ePos - so that if you will integrate your website with your ePos at a future stage, that the products can match up together as they use the ProductCode to do this.
The standard Product Fields
When importing new products, the following are the standard fields. You can add other fields from the "Full List of Product Fields" link below. The standard approach is to import a list of products from your ePos system using these 3 fields and then using the LiveEdit to add descriptions and then upload product images.
ProductCode |
MAX 50 chars |
The unique product code |
Title |
MAX 100 chars |
This is normally the TITLE or DESCRIPTION field in your ePos/ERP. As ePos titles can be too short for the web, you may need to edit the titles to be longer as it's important to provide enough details in the title so that the customer knows that they are getting the exact product they added to the basket. - e.g. "Brand - Long Title - Size"

How to Import the File:
- Save the file in csv utf-8 format. You can choose save as and update the Save as field to CSV UTF8
- Log in as web admin and click Catalogue - Bulk Imports
- Click Import New Products
- Browse to the file and click Upload
- It will then tell you if the file was uploaded successfully and how many records were imported and then inserted/updated - as well as how many errors/warnings were found. If there are errors/warnings, they will be listed down the page
- You may need to CLEAR CACHE in SETTINGS to see the updates on the front end of the website straight away.
- If you are using the ABCommerce advanced search (the default search) you may wish to CLEAR KEYWORD CACHE in SETTINGS and then search for a new search term. This will ensure that the new products that you have uploaded will be returned in the search.
