Product Bundling is an excellent way to increase average order value and ultimately revenues through both upselling and cross selling. By offering a curated collection of products together in exchange for a discount, the customer feels positive about the deal and at the same time increase their average order value.
The AB Commerce Bundle functionality allows you to combine a selection of products at a set price and also allows your customers to choose the versions when relevant. The functionality is configured to allow stock control for individual SKU’s in the bundle
Setting up a Bundle
- Go to Catalogue
- Choose Products
- Select Add Bundle Tab
In the admin screens for your Bundle, complete each of the sections.
Section 1
Give your Product Bundle a Name and Product Code
You will need to add
- Product Title – Name of Bundle Product
- Product Code – we recommend you add BUN_ or BUNDLE as a prefix to the product code
Ensure the Check to make product active and appear on website is ticked
Section 2
Next step is to add the Product Codes, note that you need at least two items to create a bundle, the maximum number of items is 8.
Product Codes Step 1 : Enter a comma-separated list of product codes for all of the product codes for Item one of the bundle (comma separated no spaces)
Product Codes Step 2 : Enter a comma-separated list of product codes for all of the product codes for Item two of the bundle (comma separated no spaces)
Repeat the process above until all items added.
Section 3
Assign the Product Bundle Pricing
Regular Pricing : Enter the cumulative price of all of the products in the bundle without applying a discount
Trade Pricing: This value stays zero unless you want to enter trade price.
Promotions : Enter the actual Promotion Price of the Bundle
Section 4
Assign your Product Bundle to a Category
Primary Category : Assign your Product Bundle to a Primary Category
Brand Category: If all the products in the bundle are from the same Brand, you should assign a Brand Category. If the products in the bundle are from multiple Brand, you can leave the Brand Category blank
Section 5
You can assign Stock Control or alternatively leave this section empty
Section 6
You have the option to add SEO for your Product Bundle or leave empty
Once all sections are completed you can choose Finish and your Product Bundle is created
The following screens show you how your Bundles will be presented to the customer
Screen 1 – Product Detail Page
ADD TO BASKET BUTTON has been replaced with a CREATE MY BUNDLE button
Screen 2 – Select Item 1
Displays the product(s) to choose from for Item 1
Click View Options to display versions and make your selection
Screen 3 – Choose Item 2
The first item has populated into the Bundle Summary Display at the bottom of the screen and you can now choose the second item of your bundle.
Displays the product(s) to choose from for Item 2
Click View Options to display versions and make your selection
Once the Bundle is complete, Add Bundle to Basket button becomes active
