Our slideshow feature lets you turn report screens into a reusable presentation that you can review, edit, and tailor for your own needs. You can save a report as a slideshow, add comments to slides, hide slides you do not want to show, and manage the slide order. You can also build custom slides as part of the slideshow editing process.
What the slideshow feature does
When you open a supported report in slideshow view, the report is displayed as a sequence of slides. Each slide represents part of the report content and can be presented one by one using the on-screen navigation controls.
From there, you can:
- save the current report as a slideshow
- move through slides using buttons or keyboard shortcuts
- jump to a specific slide
- edit slide titles and comments
- hide slides you do not want included
- reorder and manage slides in the sorter
- add custom slides for your own notes or presentation content
Viewing a slideshow
When a slideshow opens, you will see:
- the slideshow title and subtitle at the top
- the current slide content in the main viewing area
- navigation controls at the bottom for moving between slides
You can move through the slideshow using:
- First and Last to jump to the beginning or end
- Prev and Next to move slide by slide
- the Page box to jump to a numbered slide
- the dropdown list to jump directly to a slide by title
You can also use keyboard shortcuts:
- Left Arrow for previous slide
- Right Arrow for next slide
- Home for first slide
- End for last slide
- F to toggle fit mode
- Esc to close the slideshow, or exit editing if you are currently editing
Saving a report as a slideshow
If you are viewing a report in standard mode, you will see a Save button at the top of the slideshow:
To save the report as a slideshow:
- Open the report in slideshow view.
- Click Save.
- Enter a title for the slideshow when prompted.
- Confirm the save.
A new saved slideshow is then created and opened, so you can continue working with it.
This is useful when you want to keep a snapshot of a report at a point in time and turn it into a presentation you can refine later.
You can view your saved slideshows under Slides off your dashboard:
Editing a saved slideshow
When you open a saved slideshow in edit mode, extra controls become available in the header.
These editing tools allow you to:
- change a slide title
- add or update slide comments
- hide or show slides
- open the sorter to manage slides
- save or discard your changes
Editing comments and titles
To edit the current slide:
- Open the saved slideshow (it will automatically go into edit mode).
- Navigate to the slide you want to change.
- Click Edit:
- Update the slide title if needed.
- Add or change your comments in the editor area.
- Click Save Changes.
Comments are shown in a dedicated Comments section above the slide content when the slide is viewed normally.
This is useful for adding talking points, internal notes, explanations, or customer-facing context without changing the underlying report content.
Discarding changes
If you start editing a slide but decide not to keep the changes:
- Click Discard Changes
- Confirm if prompted
This restores the slide to its previous saved state.
If you try to leave the page with unsaved edits, you will also be warned before the page closes.
Hiding or showing slides
Sometimes you may want to keep a slide in the slideshow record, but not show it in the live presentation. In edit mode, each slide can be toggled between visible and hidden.
To hide a slide:
- Open the slideshow in edit mode.
- Go to the slide you want to remove from view.
- Click Hide Slide
To show a hidden slide again:
- Return to that slide in edit mode
- Click Show Slide
Hidden slides are not deleted. They are simply excluded from the visible slideshow until you show them again.
This is useful when you want to simplify a presentation for a specific audience without permanently removing content.
Deleting or removing slides
In practice, slides are managed through visibility and the sorter tools.
If you want to remove a slide from the active presentation, the usual approach is to hide it. This keeps the content available in case you want it later.
If your slideshow management screen includes delete options in the sorter, those can be used for permanent removal. Hiding is the safer option when you are unsure.
Reordering slides and managing slide structure
In edit mode, click Sorter to open the slideshow sorter.
The sorter is used to manage the structure of the slideshow, including tasks such as:
- reordering slides
- reviewing the full slide list
- managing hidden and visible slides
- adding new custom slides where supported
This is the best place to organize the slideshow into the flow you want before presenting or sharing it.
Creating new custom slides
Custom slides let you add your own content alongside report-generated slides. These can be used for:
- introduction slides
- summary slides
- recommendations
- action plans
- notes for customers or team members
Custom slides are typically created from the slideshow management or sorter screen rather than from the main slide viewer itself.
A common workflow is:
- Save the report as a slideshow
- Open the slideshow in edit mode
- Go to Sorter
- Add a new custom slide
- Enter the title and content for that slide
- Position it where you want in the slideshow
- Save your changes
This allows you to combine live report content with your own narrative, commentary, or next steps.
Fit mode
The Fit button changes how wide the slide content appears on screen.
Use this when:
- you want more space for wide report content
- you are presenting on a smaller screen
- you want a cleaner full-width display
You can also toggle fit mode by pressing F on your keyboard.
Closing the slideshow
Click Close to leave the slideshow and return to the dashboard.
If you are in edit mode and have unsaved changes, you will be asked to confirm before leaving.
Best practice workflow
A typical customer workflow looks like this:
- Open a report in slideshow view
- Click Save to create a slideshow snapshot
- Give the slideshow a meaningful title
- Open the saved slideshow in edit mode (when you click SAVE, it will automatically go into EDIT mode)
- Add comments to key slides
- Hide slides that are not needed
- Use the sorter to reorder slides and add custom slides
- Present or share the final slideshow
Tips
- Use comments to add speaking notes or customer explanations
- Hide slides instead of deleting them when you may need them later
- Rename slides so they are easier to find in the quick-jump dropdown
- Use the sorter to shape the slideshow into a clear story rather than just a raw report export
