To accurately monitor and improve profitability, your platform needs access to Cost Price data for your products. Without a cost price, it is impossible to calculate true margins, assess the impact of discounts, or understand which products are genuinely contributing to profit.
Revenue alone does not tell the full story. Cost Price allows you to see what you actually make, not just what you sell.
Why Cost Price Is Essential
Adding Cost Price to your product catalogue enables you to:
- Calculate gross margin accurately
- Understand the real impact of discounts and promotions
- Identify high-revenue but low-profit products
- Compare revenue growth vs profitability
- Make informed decisions on pricing, bundles, and marketing spend
In short, Cost Price is the foundation for monitoring and improving profitability across your ecommerce operation.
Ways to Add Cost Price to Your Catalogue
There are three supported methods for adding Cost Price (EURO) to your product catalogue. Choose the option that best fits how your systems are set up today.
Option 1: Automate Through Your Systems Integration (Recommended)
If your EPOS or ERP system already stores Cost Price, and you have an automated integration in place, this is the most efficient and scalable approach.
How It Works
- Add the field
CostPriceEUROto your product export - The platform will automatically ingest and update cost prices as part of the regular sync
What You Need to Do
- Confirm that Cost Price exists in your EPOS/ERP system
- Ask your EPOS/ERP integrator to map and include the
CostPriceEUROfield in the product export
If you’re unsure how to do this, our Help Desk is available to advise and assist you, including liaising with your integrator where needed.
Option 2: Manually Bulk Import a CSV File
If you don’t have Cost Price available via an automated integration, you can upload it manually using a CSV file.
CSV File Requirements
Your CSV file only needs two fields:
- ProductCode
- CostPriceEURO
Each row should represent a product and its corresponding cost price.
Additional Guidance
A dedicated support article explains this process step-by-step, including file formatting and upload instructions:

Option 3: Manually Set Cost Price Per Product
You can also enter Cost Price manually for individual products.
Steps
- Click Update Product
- Open the Pricing tab
- Scroll to the bottom and click Advanced Settings
- Enter the value in the Cost Price EURO field
Final Notes
For ongoing profitability monitoring, automated Cost Price updates are strongly recommended wherever possible. Manual methods are best suited for smaller catalogues or temporary solutions.
