Growing an ecommerce business successfully requires clarity, focus, and consistent review. At the core of every successful store are clear goals around revenue growth and profitability—and a structured way to achieve them.
Your account manager is available to help you define these goals, identify the actions required to achieve them, and regularly review progress. To get started, simply contact your account manager to arrange a Review Meeting.
Our Two Core Ecommerce Objectives
Our platform—and our review process with clients—is built around two core objectives:
Increase Revenue by X% This Year
Maintain Profit Margin Above X% This Year
Your account manager is available to help you define realistic targets, track them accurately, and take the right actions to achieve them.
Revenue vs Profit: Understanding the Trade-Off
Revenue and profitability are closely linked—but they don’t always move in the same direction.
Early-Stage Growth
If your online presence is still developing and revenues are relatively low, the primary focus is often revenue growth:
Expanding visibility
Acquiring customers
Increasing order volume
At this stage, profitability may be a secondary concern while the business builds momentum.
Mature Stores
As your website matures, priorities often shift:
You may accept slower revenue growth
Focus increases on profit margin, efficiency, and sustainability
Marketing spend, pricing, and costs come under closer scrutiny
The right balance depends on where your business is today.
The Goal: Balanced Growth
Sustainable ecommerce success comes from balanced growth:
Increasing revenue
While maintaining or improving margin
Achieving this requires informed decision-making across:
Pricing strategy
Product selection
Marketing efficiency
Cost and margin management
Our platform is designed to give you the insights needed to make these decisions confidently, and our account managers work with you to ensure your goals remain realistic, aligned, and achievable over time.
Next Steps: Defining Your Targets and Key Tasks
The next step is to download and complete our Revenue & Key Tasks Questionnaire.
A link to the questionnaire is at the bottom of this article.
Once completed, email the questionnaire to your account manager, who will review it and schedule a call with you to discuss your goals, priorities, and next actions - and will also set up your targets for your reports.
About “Key Tasks” in the Questionnaire
In the questionnaire, you are asked to define Key Tasks. These are not day-to-day operational tasks.
Key Tasks should be:
Strategic initiatives
Focused on growth or efficiency
Specifically chosen because you believe they will increase revenue or profitability above expected levels
Examples might include launching a new high-margin product range, restructuring paid advertising, improving conversion rates, or entering a new market.
These Key Tasks form the foundation of your review discussions and help ensure time and effort are focused where they will have the greatest impact.
If you’d like help setting or reviewing your revenue and profitability goals, reach out to your account manager to schedule a Review Meeting.
