When selling electronic products online, it is a legal requirement to display an energy rating label and a product information sheet for each item. This article outlines the steps to upload and display this information on your product pages, ensuring compliance and transparency for your customers.
This will involve 3 parts for each product:
- Assiging the energy rating (A, B, C, etc.)
- Uploading the associated Energy Label - named correctly
- Uploading the associated Product Information Sheet - named correctly
Assigning Rating
To assign an energy rating to a product you need to go to "Catalogue - Products" and click on "Update" next to the product (Alternatively you can click on the "Edit Advanced Product Details" link on the product detail page). In the Product Details tab click on "Show Advanced Settings" and scroll down to the Energy Rating section. Click on the dropdown list and select the Energy Rating for the product.
Uploading Label and Product Information Sheet
Each product assigned an Energy Rating needs to have the corresponding Energy Rating Label and Product Information Sheet uploaded for it. You should be able to find the label and product information sheet you need to upload for each product on the EPREL website EPREL Public website. To upload the documents you need to go to the Product Detail page for the product and click on the "Upload Files" link. Then you upload the files for the label and the product information sheet.
IMPORTANT The files must be named correctly when you are uploading them.
- The energy label png file must end with _label
- The product information pdf file must end with _fiche
E.G. for Product Code SAMPLE01 the two files should be named SAMPLE01_label.png and SAMPLE01_fiche.pdf
Once these correctly named files have been uploaded for the product and it has been assigned an Energy Rating the label and link for the product information sheet will appear below the price like below:
These files will also appear in the Downloads tab on the product detail page.
You can bulk upload these files to multiple products at a time as detailed in the following support article. Please note that the files need to start with ProductCode_FileName when doing this: Bulk File Uploads – AB Commerce Online Help
Bulk Updating
Alternatively you can bulk update the Energy Rating field. To do this you need to create a .csv file with two headings: ProductCode and EnergyRating
Then you can assign the correct energy rating to each product code and upload the file as shown in the following support article: Bulk Updating Existing Products – AB Commerce Online Help
